The Feast of Sir John Barleycorn - The Children run free! (Don`t worry... not really)

Our belief is that children in the SCA are really just younger adults. We are not a fan of dragging children along nor of having mundane activities just to keep them busy. We believe that the youth can do and enjoy the SCA for what it is!

We plan to offer a few "children focused" and "all ages welcome" activities but nearly all activities are "youth friendly".

At this point we expect to have youth combat (aged 6 and up by division) as an "only children" activity alongside the adult heavy combat. We will have thrown weapons (youth aged 5 and up) and archery where the young can compete along with the adults.

The games area is also a great place for the young. There will be games of chance and skill and some are appropriate for as young as three.

Dancing is also a youth friendly activity and if they are old enough to walk they can dance.

The class list (when available) will also indicate which classes are children friendly. It is expected that it will be very fun for everyone to watch the metalsmiths and glassblowers practice their arts.

Additionally, we are pondering how to tak the theme of chivelry and knighthood to do even more...

If you have any thoughts of what we should do or questions on what we are doing please contact us at .

Much more will be posted here as we get closer...but it will be sufficient for now to share that the answer to "Should I bring my childres?" is a resounding YES!
